Welcome to ECU's School of Arts and Humanities

The School of Arts and Humanities is one of the largest and most comprehensive schools of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, with a diverse range of programs covering media and communications, contemporary arts, design, psychology and social sciences, criminology and justice, and the humanities.

Our approach to teaching is one that maximises a student’s employability through acquiring hands-on skills and experiencing professional placements, complemented by a solid theoretical background.

Executive Dean's Welcome

The School of Arts and Humanities is one of the largest schools of its kind, with over 5000 students both in Western Australia and, online, all around the world. They learn with over 300 staff, dedicated to providing all who study here a great student experience, conducting research to find answers to the challenging problems which confront us in the world today, and helping the communities with whom we work to make real improvements beyond the campus.

ECU Galleries

On our Mount Lawley Campus, the ECU Galleries provide premier exhibition space, featuring doctoral candidates, emerging/early/mid/established-career artists and curators, and the ECU Art Collection.

A site for risk and speculation where the process of creativity is as important as the outcome allowing our staff and students to engage with an inspiring program of contemporary exhibitions.
