TRACS Diversity Research Network (DRN)

The ECU TRACS Diversity Research Network (DRN) is a research entity based in the School of Arts and Humanities. It is an inclusive and expansive university-wide network that brings together scholars of migration (broadly defined) through weekly masterclasses and seminars, regular meetings and activities.

ECU TRACS DRN members conduct research relating to migration, diversity, multiculturalism, and related fields from a range of disciplines, including topics that relate to:

  • Inclusion and Belonging in Plural Societies
  • Mobile/Digital Lives and Transnational/Translocal Communities
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) Services across the life course

Activities

ECU TRACS DRN activities include:

  • Hosting a seminar series to feature ECU and visiting scholar research
  • Holding an annual ECU TRACS Symposium
  • Co-convening the annual WA Migration and Mobilities Update Conference in partnership with the other WA universities
  • Hosting the 2024 Migration Update Conference at ECU
  • Supporting an active program of national and international collaborations in relevant fields
  • Facilitating an active research environment in transnationalism migration, multicultural and diversity studies

ECU TRACS MRN is supported by a convenor committee comprising staff and HDR students from the School of Arts and Humanities.
