More about the CPPP

Where art and science meet

Associate Director Creative Research Impact, Dr Jo Pollitt, discusses how she brings the arts and science together through her creative outputs, research and collaborations at The Centre for People, Place and Planet.

Dr Pollitt's current project, Staging Weather, is a multi-year project with the Western Australian Bureau of Meteorology, using the arts and dance to encourage multigenerational audiences into using their bodies to reconnect with weather and place.

Indigenous and Western Science combine

Associate Director of Research Practices, Associate Professor Dave Blake outlines how his research with the CPPP has helped shape two of his projects; Protecting Peatland Ecosystems and Addressing Threats in Southwestern Australia (PEAT), and Transformational Aboriginal Agricultural Methods (TAAM).

Both projects link Western science and Indigenous knowledges to create a transdisciplinary approach in tackling environmental and agricultural challenges in rural Western Australia.
