Management and compliance

Your ECU Education Agent Agreement sets out our expectations of how you will recruit international students, your agent obligations and procedural information about commission, invoicing and payments. It also outlines our obligations to you as a valued partner of the university.

Governance, legislation and frameworks

As an authorised representative, it is our expectation that you are knowledgeable and informed about Australian legislation and frameworks that govern international student recruitment; including, but not limited to:

  1. The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS)
  2. Migration Act 1958
  3. Privacy Act 1988
  4. Australian International Education and Training Agent Code of Ethics
  5. Ministerial Direction No. 69

ECU policies and procedures

All relevant university policies, rules, by-laws and statutes can be located on the ECU Legislation and Policy Search database.

Of particular relevance to your activities and international education are the following:
  • Admissions
  • Admission, Enrolment and Academic Progress Rules
  • ECU Branding and Logo
  • Enrolment Loads for International Students
  • International Student Tuition Fee Refund Policy
  • Overseas Student Transfer Policy

Performance management

We conduct annual reviews of your performance as outlined in your Agreement. You should also be aware that we regularly monitor our agent network to ensure compliance with the ESOS Act and National Code of Practice. Should we hold any concerns about your performance, your account manager will contact you directly to discuss corrective measures.
