On 13 March Professor Paulo de Souza, Executive Dean, Engineering will tackle the Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra, the world's largest backyard ultra marathon to raise $40,000 for ECU students facing financial hardship.
We're calling on you to support this extraordinary cause through a donation big or small. Your contribution can make a real difference.
Financial stress is now one of the top reasons why students are discontinuing their degrees. Every day we have students needing emergency food relief, and support with other basic necessities.
100% of funds raised will go directly to ECU’s Inspiring Minds Equity Scholarship Fund providing vital assistance to students when they need it most.
Join us and help students achieve their goals.
Professor Paulo de Souza is the Executive Dean of Edith Cowan University's School of Engineering.

Not for the fainthearted, the Herdy's Frontyard Ultra is the ultimate test of endurance attracting elite athletes from around the globe.
Competitors run a gruelling 6.71km loop around Herdsman Lake, on the hour every hour until only one person remains.
In 2025, the Herdys Frontyard Ultra winner competed for 38 hours to take the title!!
The Inspiring Minds Equity Scholarship Fund supports students who may have experienced financial difficulties, personal hardships or come from underrepresented backgrounds. Your donation can help deserving students finish their degrees and realise their potential.
Donate - your generous contribution, big or small will make a difference!
