The ECU Impact Collective is a group of generous individuals who work together to support future teachers, nurses and midwives.
Members come from all walks of life, from retired teachers and nurses to leading economists. They’re all united in their common goal: supporting the students of today and creating a better tomorrow.
Nurses care for us when we are most vulnerable - when we are sick and scared. They are, without doubt, an essential part of our society and our treasured Medicare universal healthcare system.
However, if we fail to address the projected critical shortages of over 79,000 nurses and midwives, it will have a devastating impact on us all.
At the same time, our communities face severe shortages of critical care professionals. This shortage is exacerbated by an increasing number of nurses and midwives withdrawing from their courses due to the financial pressures of everyday life and the requirement to undertake a full time unpaid, compulsory three-month work placement.
By supporting these students today, you can help create a better tomorrow.
We all remember the good teachers in our lives. Their impact leaves a lasting impression far beyond our formative years. They nurture our understanding of the world and help us grow into the adults we become.
Our kids may not be as fortunate as we were, though, because declining numbers of graduate teachers over the last five years have led to estimates that we will experience a shortfall.
That’s thousands fewer inspiring, encouraging, and enthusiastic graduate teachers who aren’t helping instil a love of learning in the next generations of Australian kids.
Help us create more everyday heroes and a better, brighter tomorrow.
People like you and the other passionate members of the Impact Collective are helping to support the future teachers, nurses and midwives our community desperately needs.

We ask each member to donate at least $5,000 annually over an initial five-year period. This contribution is tax-deductible and can be made via flexible payment options.
Every dollar received will be equally divided between an immediate student support scholarship fund and a future endowment fund, generating a lasting income stream. The interest accrued from this endowment will allow us to assist students for generations to come.
An endowment fund invests assets, in this case, pooled donations kindly gifted by you, to generate income each year supporting scholarships for our deserving future students (once the endowed funds reach $100,000).
Students receive scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to their chosen field.
Student selection criteria are based on an equity scoring matrix, which considers the following circumstances:
We ask that each ECU Impact Collective member contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually over a five-year period. If you would like to continue after this initial commitment, we welcome any additional contributions you would like to make.
If five years feels like too much of a commitment, but you would still like to support one of our scholarship funds, please visit our donation page here or contact our friendly team about our Tailored Giving options - call (08) 6304 2761 or email development@ecu.edu.au.
