Scholarships and prizes

By establishing a new scholarship or prize, or supporting existing scholarships or prizes, you are directly investing in the future of our students.

Either way, your support helps students overcome barriers in acquiring an education or rewards our high achievers – it makes a real and tangible difference to them.

Scholarships

Scholarships can be established to:

  • support a particular group of students, undergraduate or postgraduate, that may face a disadvantage whilst studying;
  • support a cause or encourage a greater focus on a particular area of study; or
  • remember a loved one who contributed to a particular area of study.

Prizes

New prizes are established to recognise academic excellence in a particular unit or course. Prizes support, encourage and reward the hard work and talent of our students.

A prize may be established to mark an occasion, to remember a family member, to give back to the university, or to simply reward today’s best and brightest students.

Our team can work with you in collaboration with relevant academic staff to establish a prize that matches your interests and aims.

Tom Walsh, Woss Family Scholarship recipient

“My wife Brigid has been a WAAPA supporter for many years.  She loves all Performing Arts, including Acting, Dance and Music. I am more of a Jazz buff. Together we gain great pleasure assisting young Jazz musicians achieve their dreams, despite some personal hardships.  Both Rhiannon and Tom are worthy Inaugural Winners of the Woss Family Scholarships in Jazz.”
