For first year Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) student Jake Hagen, receiving the Westpac Young Technologist Scholarship has been a life changing event.

Valued at $5,000 per annum, The Young Technologist Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with a passion to bring about change through cutting-edge technology and innovation.

“The scholarship has greatly helped me as I can now be a lot less stressed financially and focus more on my studies. This opportunity is enhancing my education and the scholarship helps to motivate me with my study” said Jake.

In addition to financial assistance, all recipients of Westpac Technologist Scholarships will also gain lifelong membership to the Westpac 100 Scholars Network, joining an incredible group of inspiring leaders.

“Money can help launch a vision but it takes a network of inspired and inspiring people to sustain it. That’s why every Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship recipient will be part of Westpac 100 Scholars Network.” Susan Bannigan, CEO of Westpac Bicentennial Foundation said.

“Having the opportunity to attend the Sydney Conference in April was so exciting. Being part of the Westpac 100 Scholars Network will give me a head start in the workforce when I finish my degree” said Jake.

A range of scholarships are offered at ECU to help both current and future students complete their studies.  Find out more about ECU’s scholarships.
