If you’re in your final semester of studies, now is the time to start preparing for your graduation.
You should ensure that we have an accurate record of your personal details, in particular your name and postal address. To check the current personal information we have for you, login to SIMO and view the personal details web page.
The name on your student record system is the name which will appear on your degree parchment/testamur. Testamurs are produced well before graduation dates and changing names is a lengthy and expensive process. Please ensure that any change to personal details is recorded with Student Central as soon as it occurs.
For information on name changes to your testamur, see our testamurs web page.
Letters of course completion and statements of academic transcripts will be posted to your correspondence address as listed on your student record in SIMO. Students expecting to graduate must ensure their address details are correct to prevent this correspondance from being misdirected.
Invitations for graduation ceremonies will be emailed to eligible graduates' ECU email accounts. You must ensure you check your ECU email account regularly in the lead up to graduations to ensure you don't miss any important graduation information. For instructions on how to redirect your ECU emails to another email address, Ask Us.
For key graduation invitation dates, see our key dates web page.
Intending graduates should ensure that the word 'completed' appears against the relevant course on the Course Details and Progress web page in SIMO. If your record is not listed as completed in time for your ceremony, you will not be eligible to attend.
If this status does not appear please contact the Assessments Office:
Telephone: (61 8) 6304 3911
ECU is required to complete several administrative steps between the completion of your final units and the student administration cut-off deadline. You should not take your inclusion in a particular graduation ceremony to be confirmed until your Statement of Academic Record shows your status as 'completed' and you have responded to the online Invitation to Graduate through SIMO.
If you have any outstanding fees or Library fines you will not be eligible to graduate and become course ‘complete’. Students returning overdue Library items should speak to Library staff to ensure all encumbrances and fines are removed from your record.
For all other fee enquiries contact the Fees office:
Telephone: (61 8) 6304 3535
It is your responsibility to ensure you have access to SIMO to respond to the Graduation Invitation by the cut-off date.
Failure to accept, decline or defer your invitation during the registration period will exclude you from the upcoming ceremonies.
If you no longer have access to SIMO contact Student Central and request to have your password reset.
