Community programs

The School of Arts and Humanities offers an extensive portfolio of services to the community. Our initiatives are aimed at encouraging our students to embrace collaborations with industry and strive for integral engagement within society. We offer creative spaces to work in, online interactive projects, events and workshops, health related community services and educational programs that engage school aged children with the university and encourage aspirations for tertiary study.

ECU Psychological Services Centre

Edith Cowan University Psychological Services Centre is a state-of-the-art psychology clinic and training centre that provides high quality, accessible and affordable psychological services.

Galleries

Our school’s community of scholars have a deep involvement in education, research and creativity, providing an enriching experience for our students. Our Mount Lawley campus is currently home to two gallery and exhibition spaces, Spectrum Project Space and the new Gallery 25, which allows our staff and students to exhibit and workshop their ideas in the public sphere, interact with fellow artists and industry professionals whilst also expanding their knowledge and research outputs in a commercial environment.

At the School of Arts and Humanities, we are committed to engaging with the community by providing sponsorship support for the following key industry partners and events.

Short courses and workshops

As part of our commitment to engaging with our community, we run a variety of interactive and exciting short courses and workshops. Aimed at local high school students, these initiatives allow participants to be immersed in a creative environment, experience our state-of-the-art facilities and work with lectures who are industry professionals. We run weekend workshops in:

  • Visual Arts and Contemporary Fashion which encourage a hand-on immerse environment and are led by practising artists.
  • Our week-long Short Courses for Credit Program in areas such as Broadcasting, Film and Video and Photomedia see participants receive a unit of credit upon completion, giving them a head start when they commence studies at ECU.
