CMER PhD Students Win Top Awards at Royal Society of WA Symposium

We’re proud to congratulate Lucas Lutzenkirchen and Caitlyn O’Dea, PhD candidates from the Centre for Marine Ecosystems Research (CMER), who were recognised for their exceptional research at the Royal Society of Western Australia's Poster Day.

Held at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre at UWA, the symposium brought together over 70 postgraduate students from across the natural sciences. Lucas and Caitlyn were among just 12 recipients of the prestigious $1,000 cash prizes, awarded for excellence in scientific communication and research impact.

Their success highlights the calibre of research being conducted within CMER and reflects the School of Science’s commitment to supporting emerging scientists.
