Alexandra D’Cruz

Overview of thesis

Alex has a background in marine ecological research with a focus on marine mammal conservation and management. Her research interests include understanding the population ecology and dynamics of marine mammals, and how these are influenced by human pressures. Alex’s current research focuses on the population ecology of pygmy blue whales in Australia and their exposure to increasing cumulative pressures. This work will build on existing knowledge and involves collaboration with other researchers working in the field, to inform management of pygmy blue whales in Australia. Alex is passionate about marine mammal conservation, sharing knowledge with the community, and collaborating with like-minded individuals.
