Watinee is an adjunct lecturer at Edith Cowan University who collaborates on national and international research projects, including with ECU, focusing on integrating machine learning with spatial databases. She is dedicated to advancing students’ skills in geospatial technologies through engaging and interactive teaching.
Dr. Watinee Thavorntam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. she has extensive experience as a database administrator for data warehouses, where she has integrated machine learning algorithms for big data and geospatial analysis. She has led and served as an expert on numerous national and international projects, including research collaborations with Edith Cowan University (ECU), focusing on spatial databases and web-based GIS for effective spatial data management. Her research interests and areas of expertise include spatial data science, big data analytics, machine learning in geospatial analysis, spatial database management, remote sensing applications, and the use of GIS for vegetation analysis, disaster monitoring, and forecasting using large geospatial datasets.
