Background

Cass is an experienced science communicator with a background in environmental science, astronomy, and community engagement. She’s also a qualified high school science teacher, and has extensive knowledge around the online realm of social media, videography, and performance.

She leads a range of science engagement initiatives within the science and mathematics discipline that connect the local community with ECU's scientific research. This includes running engaging school and holiday workshops, supporting teacher development, and coordinating public events such as science movie nights, pub talks, and National Science Week activities. She also recruits and trains student Ambassadors, manages the School of Science’s social media, represents the School at career expos, and creates multimedia content that showcases our scientists and their work.

Through these targeted outreach activities, Cass aims to inspire diverse communities, encourage future scientists to pursue studies within the School of Science, showcase our innovative programs, strengthen our reputation, and earn trust for the School as a leader in science.

She has worked with not-for-profits, local government, and universities sharing her love for everything STEM, and looks forward to meeting you at ECU to talk about science pathways.
