National Science Week

ECU gets involved with National Science Week every year, running and supporting events throughout the state. We are members of the WA Coordinating Committee for National Science Week and sponsor the grant program every year.

Deaf STEM Camp

Where Deaf Teens and Science Meet! Head to our Joondalup campus for two days of science, technology, engineering, and maths, for Deaf and Hard of Hearing teenagers aged 14-18. Auslan interpreters will be provided for the event. Held between 9.30am and 4pm each day on 9th and 10th August 2025.

This is a non-residential day camp. Tickets can be booked online. Funded by Inspiring Australia and National Science Week.

Crochet & Cocktails

Create your own hyperbolic geometry shape with yarn on 15th August 2025. Head to ECU's Birra Bar and learn the pattern from ECU mathematician Dr Julia Collins, while sipping on a specialty cocktail. Suitable for both beginner (places limited) and experienced crafters.

Dolphins: Is Our Love Too Deep?

Head to ECU Joondalup on Friday 29th August to watch a ground-breaking, investigative, environmental film that explores the impact humans are having on wild dolphins through hand feeding tourism programs in Australia.  This screening will be followed by a Q&A with scientists and the film's director, Leighton De Barros.
