The ConocoPhillips Science Experience at ECU

The ConocoPhillips Science Experience provides students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a variety of science and math activities.  An annual event, the Science Experience is hosted by 39 universities and tertiary institutions nationwide and is support by Rotary.

ECU hosts the ConocoPhillips Science Experience at its Joondalup campus during the summer break in January.  The program aims to boost high school students’ interest and participation in science and math, raise their awareness of STEM careers, and encourage them to study science in upper school and university. ECU welcomes students aged 14-16 (high school years 9 and 10) from across Western Australia to participate in fascinating science-based activities and workshops facilitated by a welcoming team of ECU scientists and current students.

The 2021 program will introduce students to STEM disciplines and activities including, but not limited to:

  • Environmental Science;
  • Forensic Investigation;
  • Engineering, including Robotics;
