The Resources Technology Showcase 2023, in partnership with the Government of Western Australia and Department of Defence, serves as a platform for exhibiting innovations in Mining, Resources, Defence, and Space. ECU technology and engineering graduates often pursue careers in these sectors and participating in the exhibition not only showcases the capabilities of ECU students but also provides industry and the public with insight into what they can achieve.

Sam Regassa expressed his enthusiasm for the impressive innovations surrounding the showcase and the amount of interest in technology from the youth. His experience at the exhibition inspired him to supplement his studies in Computer Science with Computer Systems Engineering. Ruben Groves, explained the design and construction of the autonomous vehicles, elaborating on the design-making process. Michael Elloy highlighted the 3D printing process and the multiple iterations that were required, as well as the electronics and components necessary for the project's success. Keegan Barnard elaborated on how they programmed the vehicles to interpret data from the onboard sensors and make autonomous decisions to avoid collisions.

The Robotics Club had an exceptional day sharing their experiences and ambitions of working in the resources and technology sector. The opportunity to participate in the Resources Technology Showcase 2023 was invaluable for the Robotics Club, as it demonstrated the practical application of their skills and allowed them to showcase their potential to prospective employers and the public.
