The day kicked off with Minister for Police; Corrective Services; Defence Industry and Veterans Issues -  Hon Paul Pappalia CSC MLA. The minister shared WA’s interest in the submarine program and the relationship being developed with the United States. This was followed by Commander Scott Warner who is currently, Commander of State Intelligence and Command. He and his team shared information about some of their operations and the growing need of data scientists to provide the necessary intelligence. We were also joined by the Office of National Intelligence, and our Australian Signals Directorate who flew over from Canberra to join us for the day. They were able to share information about their recruiting process, security clearances, and job opportunities in their affiliated organisations.

After the break, conference goers were able hear from public agencies like Australian Federal Police, Perth Airport as well as private security firms like Protegas thank @Daniel Evangelista for sharing your insights. Listening to ECU Alumni about their roles in Security, the changing natures of  our adversaries and how technology is being developed to combat these was a highlight to the day.

This annual event was designed by @ECU students for security and intelligence students at ECU, Curtin, Murdoch, TAFE and Notre Dame. A big shout out to @DaleHansen for making contact with the different agencies and getting them on board. @Nicholas Phillips and @Leah Jones for being MC’s on the day. Also a big thankyou to the support team @EllieCoplin, @RobertWoodbine, @ElliotRosignoli @LeonScurria @BlairWanstall @VaradhanParthasarathy @QinwenZeng and @QianttingLin who made the day such a success.
