Shihao Yan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Science.

Background

Dr. Shihao Yan received his Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, in 2015. He has made substantial research impact in wireless communication security and privacy. His research secured over $480k funding, including the Endeavour Fellowship from the Australian Government, Macquarie University Research Fellowship, and UNSW Faculty of Engineering Goldstar Awards.

Shihao has had 2 book chapters, 65 journal articles, 38 conference papers, and 8 patent applications. He is currently an Editor of two journals and has been a Guest Editor for 3 special issues. He was taking on the role of the Technical Program Committee (TPC) Chair of IEEE GlobeCOM Workshop on Trusted Communications with Physical Layer Security in 2018. In addition, he was invited as one of the four Panel Members for IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC) Spring workshop on Positioning Solutions for Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems in 2017. Furthermore, he served as the Local Arrangements Chair of Australian Communications Theory Workshop in 2017. He was also awarded certificates for top 2% Exemplary Reviewers by the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transaction on Communications (TCOM) in 2017 and 2019.
