Team and Purpose

Kurongkurl Katitjin has a dedicated team comprised of Student Success Officers who are available to provide a tailored approach to supporting you during your higher education journey.

The Student Success Officers are here for you from start to finish; they will welcome you at your Orientation session and support you through to your final semester. Areas of support include:

  • Supporting study progress, health, and wellbeing.
  • Assessing personal challenges and developing action plans to overcome them.
  • Providing referrals to specialist support service both in ECU and in the community.

While primarily based at the Mount Lawley campus, Kurongkurl Katitjin Student Success Officers provide support to all students on-campus and online.

Message from the team

Kaya everyone,

The Kurongkurl Katitjin Student Success Team want to walk with you on your university journey and celebrate the triumphs along the way. As previous students and experience in education we like to use the analogy that university is a roller coaster, there will be peaks and valleys, which is why we are all passionate about our role, to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander success.

We want to make your university journey as seamless as possible, as such we like to be the bridge between yourself and the university systems and processes. We think of ourselves as more as a friend to you and encourage you to keep us in the loop so we can support you as best as possible.

We look forward to being able to see you walk across the stage at graduation in the near future.

Sarah is a Larrakia woman based in Bunbury and primarily supports students on the South-west campus. Her work day is Wednesday.

Shannae is a Gimuy Walaburra Yidinjy woman who provides support to students across both Mount Lawley and Joondalup plus our online students.

Keneasha is a Bardi woman.
