The School of Business and Law seeks to reward students for their high achievements, as well as offer the opportunity to participate in competitions at a national and international level. Students are required to utilise the skills they have acquired at university to compete against students from other institutions, providing opportunities for networking, skill development and personal growth.
The Dean’s List recognises the top 5% of graduating coursework students each year, based on their overall course average. This includes research students graduating with first class honours or with outstanding performance in their thesis.
Each year the School of Business and Law recognises the outstanding achievements of our students through Student Prizes. Recipients of a prize are notified by the School by the end of each February, and are invited to attend the Student Prize Night to accept their prize.
Enactus ECU students recruit their own team members, set up their own roles and responsibilities, decide their own projects, implement them in the community and finally each year present them to panels of industry judges from businesses around Australia.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides participants with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. The challenge offers students the opportunity to engage with industry experts, compete with universities from all around the world, and gain real world experience as all competitors are held to the standard of the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
It takes place in Vienna. The Vis Moot (East) is a sister moot to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot that takes place in Hong Kong.
