The ECU Tax Clinic

The ECU Tax Clinic (ECUTC) aims to assist unrepresented taxpayers in meeting or complying with their taxation affairs. The ECUTC offers students, under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners, the opportunity to engage in case work directly relevant to their chosen career in taxation.

The ECUTC is a friendly, student-run clinic where you will receive advice from Edith Cowan University taxation students under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners.

How The ECU Tax Clinic can help

As a student run clinic, the ECUTC may be able to assist you in preparing and lodging your individual tax return.

Accessing The ECU Tax Clinic

Access to the ECUTC will be reserved for those that meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Currently unrepresented (do not have a tax agent);
  2. Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
  3. Are an individual.
  4. Individual returns only (unable to assist with BAS or Business returns)
  5. Returns for 2019/2020
  6. Straight forward tax returns, if your tax return requires resolution of more complex issues The Tax Clinic may advise that you seek advice from a Registered Tax Agent.

From time-to-time we may consider matters which do not meet the standard eligibility criteria. Subject to the discretion of the leadership group.
