Principles for Responsible Management Education

Edith Cowan University (ECU) School of Business and Law (SBL) is a proud signatory to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) since 2019. PRME is an initiative by the United Nations (UN) whose mission is to equip business school students with knowledge on sustainable development with the aim of promoting global social responsibility whilst mentoring a generation of inspired future leaders with capabilities to create a sustainable global economy.

SBL PRME and Sustainability Steering Committee

In 2019, the school formed a PRME and sustainability steering committee appointing Dr Mehran Nejati as the Director. The committee was to oversee that sustainability, PRME principles and SDGs are embedded in its teaching and learning, research, and operations. The committee is represented by a team of adept, passionate and dedicated students and staff from all disciplines across the School. The diversity in expertise within the committee fosters cognitive diversity and inclusiveness in its decision making and practises.

The 2021 SBL PRME and Sustainability Steering Committee comprises:

Key Sustainability Initiatives and Projects

ECU continues to lead in research and responsible management education with sustainability as one its core tenets. SBL operates in congruent with PRME’s 6 principles:
