Professor Gabriel Eweje

Gabriel Eweje is Professor of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability in the School of Business and Law.

Previously, he was Professor of Responsibility & Sustainability in the School of Management, Massey Business School, Massey University, New Zealand. He was also Director of the CSR and Sustainability Research Group at Massey Business School and Doctoral Mentor Supervisor at Massey University.

Gabriel has received awards for both teaching and scholarship. He is the Editor-in- Chief of Corporate Governance - An International Journal of Business in Society, and Associate Editor – Business Strategy and the Environment.

Gabriel has more than 25 years of work experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in social issues in management and sustainability disciplines. He worked as a Research Fellow at the United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU/IAS), Tokyo, Japan, and taught for several years at Royal Holloway University of London, England. He also worked as a Research Fellow with International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), London on a project on how mining and minerals can contribute to sustainable development (MMSD).

Gabriel’s current research interests are ethical decision making in public and private organisations, conscious and responsible organisations, gender equality, sustainable supply chain management, social sustainability and employees’ wellbeing during Covid19, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He has published his work in top journals in his research areas and has presented his research findings at international conferences.
