ECU School of Business and Law has welcomed its first cohort of students to the University’s new City Campus, marking a milestone Orientation Week.
Across a series of undergraduate and postgraduate sessions, new and returning students stepped inside the School’s new home for the first time. They had the opportunity to explore the purpose-built learning spaces, including the moot court and Smart Lab, and connect with their classmates and lecturers.
This year’s Orientation blended preparation with celebration, featuring School inductions and course information sessions, alongside live performances from Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) students, DJs, and sweet treats from a fairy floss cart.
Executive Dean Professor Maryam Omari said it was a special moment for the School community to welcome students into the new campus.
“It has been such a pleasure to welcome our students into the School’s new home at ECU City,” Professor Omari said.
“They will be the first business and law students to learn in our new teaching spaces, which have been designed for practical, industry-aligned experiences that give them the best possible start for their future careers”
“Most importantly, Orientation helps students feel a sense of belonging. We want every student to feel welcomed, supported and part of our School community from their very first day.”
Students received welcome packs and enjoyed a lively atmosphere with music, giveaways and interactive activities, while learning about support services, study skills and the opportunities available within the School.
The ECU City Campus, which opened in 2026, brings the School of Business and Law into the centre of Perth business, creating new opportunities for collaboration and connection with industry and community.
As the first semester at ECU City approaches, the School looks forward to seeing students begin their studies in its state-of-the-art learning environment.
