Sonja is a Senior Research Officer in the School of Business and Law and part of the Assurance of Learning team. The Assurance of Learning team works with the School’s Accreditation staff to ensure the School delivers quality business education. Sonja teaches in the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program. The WIL program is an award-winning work-based program where students participate in micro-placements, work placements and internships hosted by community or industry partners.
Biography
Sonja is an experienced Higher Education teacher with a passion for life-long learning, career development and reflective practice. Sonja graduated from and worked for the University of Pretoria in South Africa as lecturer for 18 years before relocating to Perth. She completed a PhD in Educational Psychology in 2014 investigating career resilience and have published with others on topics such as career facilitation and curriculum design. She uses her expertise to support constructive alignment across business education curricula in the School of Business and Law.
Sonja teaches in the School of Business and Law’s Work-Integrated Learning (SBL WIL) program, facilitating placement and internship students’ development of employability. The SBL WIL program is an award-winning work-based program where business students participate in micro-placements, work placements and internships hosted by community or industry partners. Sonja is involved in a few research projects across various disciplines in the School of Business and Law related to authentic assessment (Marketing), curriculum design (Accounting), and enterprise capabilities (transdisciplinary).
