A study into the effects of spray and jet characteristics on flash evaporation desalination

Flash evaporation finds application in desalination technologies and involves vacuum (low) pressure enhanced evaporation of a liquid. The liquids in flash evaporation can take the form of both spray and/or pools. This collaborative PhD research project (with the Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Research group) studies the characteristics of flash evaporation in saline water sprays over a range of operating conditions.
