Horticulture Research Facility

The horticulture research facility at ECU has excellent research infrastructure. This includes a well-equipped laboratory, a glass/shade house, and field facilities. This infrastructure is supported by research and innovation expertise in the area of production and postharvest technology of horticultural crops; research training for MSc, PhD, and research staff; and training to the industry stakeholders. The research has a special focus on developing innovative production and postharvest technologies, minimising quantitative and qualitative losses during the production, and supply chain of fresh horticultural produce. This will ensure the provision of high-quality horticultural fresh produce and improved productivity and profitability of the horticulture industry.
