A group of ECU staff at Perth Pride Fairday
ECU, in partnership with Rabble Books and Games, joined over 100 community stalls, businesses, and food trucks at this year’s Perth Pride Fairday on 14 November, one of the largest Perth Fairdays to date.
The event, held annually at Hyde Park, was a great opportunity for ECU to promote important LGBTIQA+ initiatives, and to the connect with queer people and their allies.
There were a range of staff and students from ECU involved in running ECU’s stall on the day, including representation from Future Student Engagements, ECU Student Queer Collective, the International Office, Equity Projects team, Strategic and Governance Services, WAAPA, Student Life, Academic Pathways Program, Library Services Centre, School of Business and Law and School of Medical and Health Sciences.
As part of ECU’s partnership with Rabble, ECU student Paige Howells (Kimmy Hugs) read stories to families and young people in two drag queen story times throughout the day.
ECU was one of two universities represented at Perth’s Pride Fairday, alongside Curtin University.
