Dr Heidi Vivian is a Lecturer in the Management discipline in the School of Business and Law.

Biography

Heidi earned her PhD in Employment Relations from the University of Western Australia. Her research relates broadly to the labour governance of insecure workers, in both Australia and the Southeast Asian region, with particular relevance to OHS.  She is especially interested in the role of worker voice in non-standard employment relationship and its relevance in addressing psychosocial hazards at work and improving  health and safety outcomes for workers

Heidi holds an undergraduate degree in Asian Studies / Economics (UWA) and master’s degree in International Relations (Curtin) and has extensive teaching experience across the Management discipline with a focus on units in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour. Prior to her work in academia Heidi worked in private practice for over 10 years as a client facing management consultant on major infrastructure projects in the civil aviation and extractive industries in Australia, the UK and Indonesia.  Subsequently, her teaching practice is underpinned by both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
