Masoud has an extensive industrial background spanning over 14 years in the oil and gas industry. During this time, he successfully coordinated and managed several engineering, procurement, and construction projects in the Middle East.

After moving to Australia, Masoud pursued a career in academia by completing his PhD in business information systems at RMIT University. Throughout his academic career, he has collaborated with several Australian universities in various capacities, including teaching, curriculum design and research. Before joining ECU, Masoud was a lecturer at the school of engineering and technology, Central Queensland University, where he taught various project management units. Masoud is an internationally recognised project management professional (PMP).
