Ms Kesara Hewage

Kesara Hewage is a Lecturer in Accounting in the School of Business and Law.

Background

Kesara is a final year Ph.D. candidate in accounting, nearing completion of her doctoral studies at Swinburne University of Technology. Her Ph.D. research is focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and corporate financial performance along with big data analysis. She has proficiency in programming languages and statistical software, including Python, SAS, and SPSS, which she actively uses in her research. She is also a reviewer of a few international journals.

Before joining ECU, she has worked at Curtin University and Murdoch University and has gained experience in teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also holds three years of industry experience in both an audit firm and a bank in Sri Lanka, where she gained experience in external and internal auditing.

She is excited to contributing to the ongoing success of the School of Business and Law at ECU in her role as a Lecturer in Accounting.
