Melissa Fong-Emmerson is a Lecturer and Researcher in the School of Business and Law.

Biography

Melissa has spent more than 15 years as a marketing and communications practitioner with experience in leading and developing successful integrated marketing strategies and campaigns for national and international organisations. Melissa is a strategic and results-driven professional with experience in corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors working across various aspects of marketing strategy including sponsorship, public relations, account management and digital communications.
Melissa is a Unit Coordinator and Lecturer and has extensive experience in teaching and developing curriculum content for Undergraduate and Postgraduate units. She sustains an active role in the industry and is a Certified Practising Marketer with the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and a National Judge for the AMI Awards.
Melissa also develops and delivers the Digital Marketing and Branding Executive Education workshops for Small Business Development Corporation members in Western Australia. Melissa is active in the Internationalisation space as an Educator and Researcher and contributes to various Internationalisation activities at ECU.  
Her research focuses on social impact, diversity, equity and inclusion and explores these from various marketing practice lenses delving into digital marketing, consumer behaviour, social marketing, marketing education, internationalisation, brand and customer engagement. Melissa is currently working on various research projects in these areas at ECU including a strong collaboration with Kurongkurl Katitjin.
