Biography

Dr Smith is an implementation scientist with extensive experience in Australia and the UK, focusing on Consumer and Community Involvement, as well as collaborating with government entities, not-for-profit organisations, and other key partners in his research. Focus: Consumer & Community Involvement-based projects. Vision: Build collaborative partnerships and explore mutually beneficial research and innovation opportunities.

Dr Smith possesses extensive expertise in consumer behaviour within both the public and private sectors of the sport, health and fitness industry. His research addresses leisure and consumer behaviour, body image within organisational contexts, constraints and barriers to fitness participation, and serious leisure. Furthermore, Dr Smith has successfully applied these insights to serious games, exergames, and augmented reality.

Dr Smith’s research has earned publication in numerous esteemed international journals, highlighting his significant contributions to the field.
