Professor Sam Huang
ECU’s Professor Sam Huang soars in the ranks of a global list of top scientists in Business and Management.
Edith Cowan University School of Business and Law’s Professor Songshan (Sam) Huang has been named one of the top researchers in Business and Management in the world, securing a place in the prestigious 2025 global rankings released by Research.com.
Professor Huang was ranked #859 in the world and #52 in Australia, making an impressive leap from last year’s position at #1182 globally and #66 nationally.
The ranking is based on the strength and influence of a researcher’s work, measured by how often their publications are cited by others. Only those with a strong and sustained citation record are included, reflecting the reach and quality of Professor Huang’s research contributions within the field of Business and Management.
Professor Huang, a Professorial Research Fellow in ECU’s School of Business and Law, said he was honoured by the recognition.
“It’s an honour for my research to be recognised in these rankings.” he said. “It’s a reflection not just of my work but of the collaborative and supportive research environment we have at ECU.”
Known internationally for his work in tourism management, Professor Huang has made significant contributions to the study of sustainable tourism, visitor behaviour, and destination marketing. His work continues to influence scholars and practitioners around the world.
Executive Dean of the School of Business and Law, Professor Maryam Omari, congratulated Professor Huang on the achievement.
“This is a fantastic acknowledgement of Professor Huang’s impact in his field and further proof that ECU School of Business and Law is home to world-class researchers who are shaping the future of business and management,” she said.
