SBL Appointed Representatives: Professor Maryam Omari, Professor Peter Galvin, Associate Professor Claire Lambert and Associate Professor Suku Sukunesan
Four senior leaders from ECU’s School of Business and Law (SBL) have been appointed to executive committees of the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC), strengthening the School’s voice in shaping the future of business education and research across the country.
The ABDC is the national peak body representing university business schools in Australia. Its executive committees bring together academic leaders to guide policy, share expertise, and drive innovation in learning, research, and global engagement.
The appointments reflect the School’s growing presence and influence in business education and industry collaboration at a national level.

With members from every Australian university business school, each of its executive committees plays a key role in shaping the national agenda.
Professor Omari said the School’s representation across multiple committees is a strong signal of its leadership and commitment to excellence.
