Optimisation of renewable energy systems based on PV/wind/hydrogen using intelligent techniques

Renewable energy sources provide good opportunity for satisfying power demand in stand-alone energy applications. However, seasonal effects as well as intermittency mean these systems may depend on multiple energy conversion technologies in order to operate effectively which also raises the need to adopt complex optimisation methodologies and energy storage media. This PhD project investigates the use of hybrid (PV/wind/hydrogen) systems in stand-alone applications and the methods needed to optimise these systems.
