Inviting Parents of Children with Ongoing Health Conditions for Research Study

About the Study

The project aims to:

  1. Explore what children with ongoing health conditions perceive as gaps or needs to enhance social connectedness through digital platforms.
  2. Explore how children with ongoing health conditions currently engage with digital technology for social connectedness
  3. Understand parents' perceptions of the role of digital technology in promoting social connectedness for children ongoing health conditions.

Why We Are Seeking Participants

Children with ongoing health conditions often face unique challenges in maintaining social relationships. This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of how children with ongoing health conditions use digital technology and how it can be leveraged to improve their social well-being.

Who Can Participate

We are seeking parents (legal guardians) of children who:

  1. Are between 3 and 8 years old, and
  2. Have asthma, diabetes, or other ongoing health conditions
  3. Currently living in Australia

Participation is voluntary and confidential. Sessions include short, child‑friendly activities with children and interviews with parents. A small token of appreciation will be provided to thank families for their participation.

Ethics Approval

This study has been reviewed and approved by the Edith Cowan University Human Research Ethics Committee. Approval No. 2025-06608.
