Edith Cowan University has taught and conducted research in Occupational Health and Safety, and Occupational Hygiene for around 20 years.
We are proud our degree courses are externally accredited, and our teaching consistently receives 5-star feedback from students.
Over the last 5 years we have developed an excellent understanding of the issues associated with implementing the new Work Health and Safety legislation, by engaging with industry and research at events such as the Government Mines Safety Roadshows, Australasian Oil and Gas exhibition, Chamber of Minerals and Energy, and AIHS Perth Safety Symposium
We have designed a risk management program comprising targeted learning materials, at 5 organisational levels, which can be delivered in the classroom by a presenter, or, self-paced on-line via our Canvas learning management system. These courses are designed to educate specific workers and duty holders in their risk management duties, for example to encourage worker consultation in Health and Safety Committees, the Statutory Appointments in the Mines Regulations, and Company Officers in their requirements for verification of risk management effectiveness
The classroom materials aim to be flexible, enabling training organisations or departments to insert specific risk management procedures and tools into our training materials, allowing you to provide participants a contemporary approach to risk management, without having to change the way you work.
This is an outstanding opportunity to partner with ECU to provide your clients with a learning pathway, from these short courses into ECU degree courses.

Available to coincide with the launch of the new Work Health and Safety legislation in early 2022 , ECU will licence these courses to training organisations and departments. The licence will provide you with the mapping to Units of Competency, facilitators guidance materials, assessment materials, and classroom schedules. Our value for money licence fee and per-participant fee with volume discounts provide an excellent business opportunity to partner with ECU.
Our aim is to provide you with the resources you need to train your teams in what they need to know about risk management, in a targeted and enterprise-wide program.
