Injury Management Coordinator

This practical two-day course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage workplace injuries and support successful return-to-work outcomes. The course provides a clear understanding of injury management requirements followed by the practical processes needed to meet legal obligations and workplace responsibilities.

  • Understand injury management obligations under WA legislation.
  • Coordinate effective injury management and return-to-work programs.

Participants will receive a handbook containing WorkCover templates with explanatory notes, relevant articles, and other resources that can be applied directly in the workplace.

  • Existing Injury Management Coordinators or Advisors seeking an update on current legislation and best practice.
  • Individuals who are new to injury management or wish to develop their knowledge of the workers’ compensation system.
  • Occupational Health Nurses, Health and Safety Superintendents, Human Resources (HR) or People and Culture professionals.

Duration: 2 days
Time: 8:30am registration for 9am start to 4:30pm
Location: Metropolitan courses are typically delivered at Quest Foreshore WA (22 Harper Terrace, South Perth WA 6151)
Price: $1100 (including GST)
Mode: Face-to-Face and Virtual Instructor Lead training (VILT)

Content

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Day 1

  • Understand workers compensation and injury management legislative requirements
  • Interpret workplace injury trends and statistics
  • Explain the role of the regulator and key stakeholders in injury management
  • Navigate the workers compensation claims process

Day 2

  • Develop and implement effective return-to-work programs
  • Understand dispute resolution processes, including conciliation and arbitration
  • Understand the principles of psychosocial injury management
  • Apply practical tools, templates, and case studies to manage real-world injury management situations.

12 and 13 October 2026: Face-to-Face
9 and 10 November 2026: Face-to-Face
14 and 15 December 2026: Face-to-Face

2027:
16 and 17 February 2027: Virtual Instructor Lead training (VILT)
16 and 17 March 2027: Face-to-Face
