Registered Nurse OSCE Preparation Course

This comprehensive two-week face-to-face program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully prepare for your Registered Nurse (RN) OSCE. The course focuses on strengthening essential clinical skills, enhancing clinical reasoning, and developing effective communication strategies required for OSCE performance.

Course Content

  • Hand hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC): Essential procedures and protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections and maintain patient safety.
  • Clinical handover (ISBAR): A structured communication framework to deliver accurate and effective clinical information during transfer of patient care responsibility.
  • Medication preparation and administration: Safe preparation and administration of oral, intramuscular (IM), subcutaneous, and intravenous (IV) medications using the Australian National Standard Medication Chart and National Subcutaneous Insulin Chart.
  • Medication safety and drug dosage calculations: Principles of safe medication practice, medication rights, and accurate dosage calculations to reduce medication errors.
  • Vital signs monitoring: Assessment and interpretation of vital signs, including PQRST pain assessment, use of early warning tools, escalation procedures, and Medical Emergency Team (MET) criteria.
