Dr Thuy (“Twee”) Tran is an occupational therapist, lecturer, and hand therapy clinician based in Perth, Western Australia. Thuy has over 15 years of clinical experience and is an active early career researcher with interests spanning occupation-based hand therapy, women’s health, and community health. In particular, she is passionate about preventing common hand and upper limb injuries among women in the perinatal phase. At Edith Cowan University, Thuy teaches hand therapy and evidence-informed practice, supervises research students, and continues her own research into occupation-based hand therapy and holistic approaches to upper limb conditions.

Background
Thuy ("Twee) is an experienced senior occupational therapist specialising in Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation and is an Accredited Hand Therapist (as awarded by the AHTA). She is passionate about intertwining occupation-based practice in the field of hand therapy. For Thuy's PhD, she developed a person-centred and holistic approach to managing work-related lateral elbow tendinopathy called “Working Hands- Ed”. Thuy is currently the unit coordinator for the ‘Foundations of Biomechanics and Hand Therapy’ unit at Edith Cowan University (Perth) and works casually as a hand therapist clinician in the private sector.
