Anton is a Lecturer, Unit Coordinator and researcher in the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University. He teaches and coordinates units in occupational health and safety, risk management, and leadership in mining, with a focus on industry-relevant practice.  He is currently completing his PhD.

Background

Anton is a Metallurgical Engineer with extensive industry experience spanning over three decades in mining, mineral processing, complex material-handling logistics, industrial manufacturing, and large construction projects across South Africa and Australia. He has held senior operational and advisory roles in health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) systems, business excellence (6-Sigma and LEAN), and Risk.

In addition to his academic role, Anton actively contributes to industry through advisory, coaching, and mentoring engagements, as well as applied research, bridging academic theory and practical implementation.

Anton maintains active engagement with the mining industry through consultancy and advisory services, ensuring teaching and research remain aligned with current operational practice
