Dr Tina Yan

Dr Yan is a researcher with a strong focus on gut health, nutritional interventions, and neurological conditions. She completed her PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics at ECU in 2023, where her research investigated the effects of a novel dietary fibre (ur gut ®) on gut function, gut microbiota, sleep, mental health, and quality of life in individuals with irritable bowel syndrome following a low‑FODMAP diet. Dr Yan also contributes to neurological research within the Brain Bites research project at the Centre for Precision Health, examining food practices and dietary needs in populations living with Parkinson’s disease, acquired brain injury, and Huntington’s disease. In addition to her research, Dr Yan teaches Epidemiology at the SMHS and Edith Cowan College (ECC), and lectures in Anatomy and Physiology (Human Bioscience 1) at ECC.
