ECU staff are invited to join the Disability Access and Inclusion Sub-Committee (DAISC) to advise on services and facilities for staff and students with disability. Staff with disability are particularly encouraged to take up the membership on DAISC.

We currently have two places available. The purpose of DAISC is to:

  • Advise the University, through the Equity Committee on services and facilities for people with disability.
  • Identify risk management, legislative and policy issues and report these to the Equity Committee.
  • Promote through discussion, matters that contribute to the access and inclusion of people with disability.
  • Assist in developing a five-year Equity and Inclusion Plan.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring implementation of actions related to access and inclusion from ECU plans.
  • Consider Accessibility Reports, other accessibility issue, and assist with post-occupancy evaluations for University buildings as required.

For more information, please read the DAISC Terms of Reference.

Meetings are held four times a year, and all members are required to nominate a proxy if they are unable to attend meetings. Positions on DAISC are reviewed every two years.

If you would like to be considered for a position, please fill out the following form by Friday 12 August. If you have any questions, please contact Fiona Navin (Director Access and Equity, and Chair of DAISC).
