This year's National Reconciliation Week (NRW) theme, "Bridging Now to Next," emphasises the ongoing connection between past, present, and future. It calls on all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead, and to continue the push forward as past lessons guide us .
At ECU, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. NRW provides an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to reconciliation by engaging in meaningful conversations and actions.
We warmly invite you to an upcoming screening of Genocide in the Wildflower State, a compelling documentary that examines the profound historical and cultural impacts of colonisation and its ongoing legacies. We are playing the film at both Joondalup and South West campuses

This screening offers an important opportunity for reflection, discussion, and shared understanding as we work towards meaningful reconciliation. Following the film, there will be a facilitated conversation with the Executive Producers of the film, where we encourage staff to engage with the themes presented and consider their relevance to our university community.

BlaK Futurism: Indigenous Pop Culture for Tomorrow is a UniPrep unit that centres Indigenous ways of knowing and contemporary culture while giving students a strong foundation in academic writing, critical thinking, and media analysis.
ECU Students Gain Real-World Experience Through Partnership with Indigenous Entrepreneurs As part of the School of Business and Law's Retail Marketing unit, students work directly with Indigenous businesses to develop marketing strategies, pitch campaign ideas, and build Shopify websites, applying classroom knowledge to real business challenges.
