Determining the Effectiveness of Care Coordination, Family Centred Care and Child Development Programs in Improving the Health and Development of Aboriginal Children

Through engagement with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, mainstream health services and families we have identified a number of areas that could improve health care delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and provide evidence to support current practice.

We are currently working on three systematic review (two Cochrane; one non-Cochrane review) to determine the effectiveness of three different programs: care coordination, family centred care and the delivery of child development programs starting in the neonatal period. Our aim is to determine how effective these programs are on improving important child health and wellbeing indicators.
