In the 2021 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects released by ShanghaiRanking, ECU was ranked in the 51-75 band for its Hospitality and Tourism Management subject among universities worldwide.
This follows many consecutive years of the discipline doing well in various rankings, with Professor Sam Huang adding to the success by ranking 5th in the world for leading output research in Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Management (SciVal).
Hospitality and Tourism Management is one of the research strengths in ECU’s School of Business and Law with world-class researchers publishing in a diversity of research areas including Chinese tourist behaviours, nature-based tourism, food and film tourism, and contemporary hospitality workforce.School of Business and Law also hosts world-class undergraduate and postgraduate hospitality and tourism courses featuring contemporary technologies and insight into sustainable tourism, service excellence in hospitality, global hospitality operations management, and a diverse range of cutting-edge issues impacting tourism and hospitality management.
