Zina is a Lecturer and Coordinator of the Digital Technologies specialisation (Secondary) in the School of Education.

Background

Zina advocates for the effective integration of technology-enhanced learning into the teaching and learning processes of the Secondary program. Zina completed her PhD at ECU in 2025, with research focused on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technologies in secondary education. Her research explores the pedagogical, technological, and contextual factors influencing the adoption of immersive technologies in schools, with a particular focus on teacher experiences and professional practice.

She has extensive experience in Digital Technologies education, educational technology, AI literacy, and teacher professional learning. Zina teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education programs and supports Pre-Service Teachers to engage critically with contemporary curriculum, emerging technologies, and innovative pedagogical approaches. Alongside her teaching and research, Zina contributes to a range of professional and academic communities, including curriculum development, educational technology initiatives, conference presentations, and peer reviewing for national and international journals. Her research interests include Digital Technologies curriculum, AI in education, immersive technologies, STEM education, digital literacy, and technology-enhanced pedagogies such as Educational Technology and Pedagogies (TPACK).
