Introducing low sensory rooms to the Library

Monday, 18 July 2022

Tags:

Low sensory rooms are spaces that offer an important respite from sensory overload.

Students requiring a space designed with special consideration of sensory input will be able to use the rooms for calming and focussing the body and mind.

Locations for the rooms have been selected at each Campus Library and we're looking forward to the new spaces soon being operational.

Certain elements of the rooms have been constructed off-site to minimise disruption on campus.

Timelines

The on-site works will commence:

  • 20/06/2022 (Joondalup and Mount Lawley)
  • 27/06/2022 (South West)

The rooms are expected to be fully operational by October 2022, once all the furnishings are in place.

Further information

Further information will be listed on the Library's accessible services web page.
